Morbid Mondays: Free eBook of the Week – Road Markers

Blurb:

Dean is a forty-something sales rep for a company that ropes small, mostly blue-collar firms into long term cellphone plans.  Heading home from a bad meeting, he begins to see evidence that he can will things to happen just by thinking about them.  But will this tantalizing realization lead him to cross the line for good?

Why I Chose It:

This book has been a bestseller under the category free thriller/suspense on Smashwords ever since I first joined on August 1st. I have seen a lot of this book but have never bothered to really take a long look at it a few days ago. And I’m so glad I did. This book has received a number of stellar reviews all saying that it has a very unique and compelling storyline and because of this, I SOOO want to know more. It’s a thriller, a genre that I love, and on Smashwords, as of 15 reviews, it holds its own at a 4.80 star rating! Now that is something to marvel at! All of the reviews rave that this book has an extremely captivating and suspenseful plot and an ending that they didn’t once expect and kept them thinking for about for days. I love me a good ending.  When I get a chance, I will definitely be reading this free ebook!

Morbid Mondays: Free eBook of the Week – The Last Dance of a Black Widow

In celebration of Bradley Convissar’s horror giveaway, I thought we should have a “Bradley Convissar Week”. Here is a new, free short he wrote. Although I haven’t yet read it, it looks excellent and has gotten great reviews on Smashwords. So here it is, this week’s Morbid Mondays: Free eBook of the Week, the Last Dance of a Black Widow by Bradley Convissar!

About:

Meet Abbey Whistler.  She’s just died at the age of eighty and waits in her hospital room to be taken to the afterlife.  But she quickly learns that crimes committed while alive actually do have repercussions when you die.

From the author of the Pandora’s Children collection of short stories, the novellas Dogs of War and King of the Merge, and the free short story Blink comes Last Dance of a Black Widow, a sobering 3,000 word short story that explores the death of a life lived poorly.

Why I Chose It:

Not only does this story have a creepy, thought-provoking title but has an compelling storyline as well. I have just downloaded this eBook and will read it tonight. As of three Smashwords reviews, this eBook, still very new, has already acquired five stars! Compelling storyline, creepy title, author who I love, genre that I love, great reviews and of course free! Why not get it?

Morbid Mondays: Free eBook of the Week, “As Seen On Craig’s List”

Yes, I know that this is not Monday, but since I won’t be here tomorrow, I thought it best to publish this sooner rather than later.

This week’s free eBook of the week is….

As Seen On Craig’s List by Bradley Convissar

About:

What you see isn’t always what you get.

Why I Chose It:

This is just another great, free, flash fiction story by Bradley Convissar. Within the 1000 words, I felt my spine tingling at the eerieness of the story. You know something is going happen, you can feel it, but at the end when you realize what “it” is, you begin to shiver. A short, gripping and chilling read that I know you will all love.

(If you come across any great free reads that you feel is worth posting about, don’t hesitate to drop a comment with the book title and link and I will be sure to check it out!)
